There seems to be a common misconception that pizza contains 2000+ calories and you can’t eat anything else during a day if you have a pizza. Well, I’m not promoting pizza every day but since I live above a pizza place and order one now and then, I decided to check the amount of calories.
- Pizza base (dough, tomato sauce, cheese, ham): 353 g
- Shrimps: 28 g
- Pineapple: 45 g
- Mushrooms: 20 g
- Bacon: 35 g
It has a diameter of 29 cm and contains a total of 1100 kcal.
As you can see, people tend to overestimate the amount of calories in a pizza. Just remember that every pizza are unique and, according to a previously mentioned study, the U.S. version seems to contain more calories. Therefore it’s vital that you check your own pizza and don’t trust standard measurements which are might not be relevant for you.
