This is a recurring question through my contact form and the simple answer is no, but you might lose weight faster with low intensity exercise.
High intensity exercise will burn more calories per minute. It’s a fact that you’ll burn more calories if you run for 10 minutes than if you take a slow walk for 10 minutes. The thing is that most obese people will not be able to keep up with a high intensity exercise as long as they can with low intensity exercise and therefore they might benefit from taking a 60 minute walk instead of running for 10 minutes and quitting because they ran out of energy.
High intensity exercise do come with other benefits though and it might be a good idea to alternate your long walks with high intensity spinning.
