Feeling a bit down? Need some motivation? I’ve previously mentioned how you can gather photos from Tumblr and use them to inspire yourself. You might, however, also want to consider using old photos of yourself to find some extra motivation.
This weekend I decided to travel back home to visit my parents and ended up skimming through the family computer in which I found some old photos of myself. Like many others I’ve never liked the camera due to my weight so I was a bit surprised to find so many photos of me. Apparently my mother and little sister enjoyed taking photos whenever I didn’t look.
Anyway, what I learned is that our perception changes. I was overweight during my whole childhood and even though I lost some of it during a short period when I began high school I still felt overweight. However, looking at the photos I almost seemed to be in shape back then. Not in great shape but normal weight. This was before I injured my knee and got the weight back again.
Anyway, those are the kind of photos you might want to look for and use for inspiration. Place them side by side with the photos you took before you started your weight loss journey. If you haven’t taken your photos yet, do it today! Looking at the difference between the smallest and biggest version of yourself will give you a tremendous amount of motivation.
